Distinguishable by its proximity to the convergence of Bull Run River into Sandy River, Dodge Park is tucked away less than 30 miles from Portland and just outside the city of Sandy, Oregon. The park's popularity is largely thanks to the flat river bank that runs along the park’s north side and provides fisherman easy access to Sandy River. This river is a favorite for Oregon anglers and is known for having strong runs of winter and summer steelhead, spring Chinook salmon and fall coho salmon. Although many of the best spots to fish on the Sandy River must be hiked to, Dodge Park provides you with a great opportunity to hook a fish 20-feet away from where you parked.

As you can imagine, with this type of access comes popularity, and if you want to really ensure yourself room to cast off, there are 20 campsites, 15 for tents and five for RVs, located in the park. However, note that camping is seasonal, and it only lasts from May 19 until October 2. Dodge Park also hosts a number of day use areas, each equipped with a picnic table and a grill, a children’s playground, a boat launch and a community hall that is available for large groups to rent. So whether you’re looking to hook a fish, camp out, or just relax for a day, Dodge Park is a great spot to visit.
