L.L. Stub Stewart State Park is one of Oregon's newest and most diverse parks. With over 25 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails plus an 18-hole disc golf course, it's become one of Portland's favorite weekend getaways.
Though there are rustic and luxury cabins and yurts available to reserve year round, there is hardly anything that incites a weekend of adventure like waking up in a cozy tent. And considering the wealth of amenities available for all campers, staying at Both Dairy Creek Camp West and East hardly feels like roughing it. An amphitheater and a covered picnic area sit near the entrance, fire pits dot the campground, and firewood is almost always available for purchase. Though it's less-than ideal for those seeking backwoods solitude, it's a perfect campground for RVs, sociable campers, and families. Don't leave your pup at home—there's a fenced off-leash dog area near the site.
Dairy Creek Camp East has 35 full-hookup sites, flush toilets, and a playground, and is open from March 1 through October 31 annually. Alternatively, Dairy Creek Camp West has over 40 full-hookup sites, 12 walk-in tent sites, flush toilets, hot showers, and ice for sale in the evenings. It's open year round, so if you're looking for a woodsy getaway arises in the middle of a soggy winter, they've got you covered.
If you're planning to gather with a large group or are considering hosting an event, The Meeting Hall at Dairy Creek Camp West can be reserved by calling 800.452.5687.
