Clear Lake Campground is a beautiful site located just south of Mount Hood on the shores of Clear Lake. Easy to find but still tucked beneath the shadows of nearby Trillium and Timothy lakes, it is secluded and shady with many campsites providing direct access to the shore and a full set of amenities to accommodate even the most leisurely of campers.

The campground is unique in that it is split into two halves, one of which is fully developed with reserved sites and another that is a first-come, first-served set of less developed sites. This latter half is not mentioned on Recreation.gov's website and features less shade and fewer amenities. It does, however, provide more open access to the water.

As you drive into the campground there will be signs for the boat ramp straight ahead, which serves as a divider between the two sets of sites, with the developed campground to the left. These are more family friendly and will be quieter, shadier options. For the adventurous with four-wheel drive, one can take the Clear Lake Loop to the right before the campgrounds and find plenty of dispersed camping along the lake.

Nice and large Campsites with Direct Access to the Lake. Unfortunately, at this time of year, the Water Level was very low and made it just a Lake of Mud. However, will try again Early Summer next year and we look forward to camping there again!!!
