Located on the eastern edge of Champoeg State Park, this campgrounds offers numerous overnight options for visitors hoping to spend several days at one Oregon's richest historical sites.
The campground is divided into three areas:
Loop A: Well-shaded by a grove of Oregon white oaks, this area is more popular with tent campers and features six yurts, hiker/biker campsites, as well as an expansive Group/RV Site with its own picnic pavilion that is perfect for large family and group gatherings. Facilities include showers, bathrooms, and potable water.
Loop B: Out in a meadow adjacent to La Butte, this loop is predominantly more exposed to the sun, making the protection of an RV more desirable. It also features six cabins, and six walk-in sites that are well-shaded. Facilities include showers, bathrooms and potable water.
Group Campsites: The three group sites (Beaver, Otter and Blue Heron) are located outside the regular campground area. These spacious walk-in group campsites are located just west of the park's main boat ramp and offer their own vault toilet but no potable water.
