Appropriately named, this small campground lies just north of Camp Sherman directly alongside the Wild and Scenic Metolius River. In fact, Camp Sherman Campground is one of 11 campgrounds situated on the upper portion of the Metolius River, one of Oregon's most renowned angling rivers for kokanee* and trout, and appropriately one of the most popular summer recreation spots in Central Oregon.
Here, under the grove of ponderosa pines, nine sites are spaciously laid out and are ideal for escaping the hectic pace of urban living. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water, and a small octagonal picnic shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the early 1930s.
