Meacham Lake State Park and campground is home to many attractions, but the best part is the lake. And what better way to enjoy the lake than by spending a day basking in the sun on its sandy shores and swimming in its crisp waters? The swimming hole is located within the state park, and swimming is only allowed when a lifeguard is on duty. Despite this, the swimming area rarely feels crowded, and the views of the surrounding mountains are hard to beat.

The sandy beach is a great place to sunbathe or picnic. Kids frolic in the shallows and build sandcastles by the shore. A nearby volleyball court entertains groups of teenagers and adults, and the gradually deepening water is a great place for young children to test their limits. A buoyed line separates the deep end from the shallow end, but even at its deepest the sandy bottom is only about 6 feet below the surface.

A bathhouse features changing rooms and restrooms. Several picnic tables and a few picnic shelters are nearby. There is also a playground that kids find just as entertaining as the beach.

Admission for the day is $8 per vehicle. The lifeguard hours are subject to change.
