Covered Bridge Campground

Drive over the historic Albany Covered Bridge, built in 1858, and settle into camp at Covered Bridge Campground. This primitive campground allows tents, trailers, and RVs, but it does not have hookups or dump stations. While potable water is available throughout the campground, there is no running water or showers. Each of the 49 campsites has a fire ring and a picnic table and is surrounded by forest. Firewood is available for purchase from the campground host. A unique aspect of Covered Bridge Campground is that many of the campsites can be reserved in advance, whereas all other campgrounds along the Kancamagus Highway are first-come, first-served. If you forget anything, note that you’re only a short drive from Conway, where you’ll find gas, food, and other attractions.

There’s plenty to do in the area while camping at Covered Bridge. Next to the campground you’ll find access to the Swift River, including an accessible fishing pier and the trailhead for the Boulder Loop Trail. A mile west on Route 112 is the Lower Falls Recreation Area, which is a great place to swim, picnic, or just enjoy the scenic waterfall. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including black bear, deer, and moose while exploring the area!
