Named after a large boulder near the entrance of the campground, Big Rock Campground is conveniently located on the scenic Kancamagus Highway near many White Mountain sites and adventures.
The 28-site campground is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you plan to visit during a summer weekend, be sure to claim a spot early Friday afternoon as the campground fills quickly. The campsites are distributed around a loop with one spur road that heads uphill to a group of six sites. These sites are recommended as they are the farthest away from the nearby highway and have descent privacy between the sites. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire pit with metal grate. Only sites 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 14 and 20 can accommodate small trailers.
The campground has three vault toilet facilities and potable water stations. The camp host also sells firewood at $7 a bundle.
