Upper Lake Campground consists of 15 camp sites straddling the eastern shore of Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge's Upper Pahranagat Lake.
The free campground offers basic sites in this oft-overlooked area of wild Nevada. With one of Southern Nevada's only wetlands environments, Pahranagat Wildlife Refuge is home of a migratory bird population. Camp sites each have a picnic table and grill or fire ring, and all sit alongside the lake. The sites are laid out along a dead end dirt road that can easily be traveled by all vehicle types.
Non-motorized boats only are permitted on the lake, however the lake is closed to all boating each year from October 1st - January 30th.
The campground also has a few parking spots for the day use area and 3 mile trail that circles the lakeshore. Two vault toilets serve the campground. Several sites are large enough for medium sized RVs or group camps, and Site 15 is reserved for ADA accessible visitors.
Campers must observe a 14 day limit. There is no electrical, water or trash cans available at the campground.
While off the beaten path, camping along Upper Pahranagat Lake gives visitors a great opportunity to explore one of Nevada's quieter areas.
