The drive-in campground at Rice Lake State Park has a total of 40 sites. There are two gravel loops in the campground. Loop A has the non-electric sites and Loop B has 18 sites that have electric hookups. The electric hookups are 50-amp service (the electric power pedestals also has 20-amp and 30-amp outlets). Most the sites are heavily wooded so they offer nice privacy. Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. Firewood is available for sale at the park office. The non-electric sites have nice level pads built to accommodate tents. There are three wheelchair accessible sites; two these are electric sites. All the sites are back-in and can accommodate RVs with lengths from 35 feet to 55 feet. There overflow parking for tow vehicles that do not fit on the spur. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the campground, except in the restroom. There are spur trails from both loops that lead to a trail the runs near the shores of Rice Lake.
The campground has a bathroom and shower building that as well as two vault toilets. The campground is open from early May until mid-October. There is no dump station at Rice Lake State Park, but there is a free dump station located at the Owatonna Wastewater Treatment Plant which is about ten miles away.
In addition to the camping fees, there is a fee to enter the park; a day use or annual permit can be purchased at the park office. All the sites can be reserved online or by phone.
