Gabbro Falls is an impressive waterfall on the Black River. This wild waterfall does not have any fences or barriers, so view with caution from above.

Park on the side of road before the river and you'll see trail signs on the left. This appears to be an ATV trail. Follow this trail and the blue markings until you get to the fork in the trail. Continue to the right; shortly after you should see a small marked trail leading down to the river.

This hike is very muddy, so wear the right footwear and leave an extra pair of socks in the car!

If you want to see the falls from the other side, continue on the road that passes the ski hill and park shortly after it.

Comments

Gabbro Falls can easily be viewed from the top. To get to this viewing area, cross the bridge towards Blackjack Mountain ski resort and immediately take a left up the hill. Find a place to park when you see a couple of sheds on the right. There are short trails to top of the falls.
