Wailua Falls

If you are on the island of Kauai, Wailua Falls is worth a quick stop. While it is a beautiful waterfall, a quick stop is likely the only thing you will do, as there are options for little else at this destination besides walking from the parking lot to the cliffside viewpoint.

Wailua Falls itself is a 173-foot waterfall. Most often it cascades into two streams so that it appears to be two parallel waterfalls. When there is an increased amount of rain, the increased water level makes the falls look more as one large and powerful falls. In addition, Wailua Falls may be recognizable for TV fans of the long running series Fantasy Island, as the destination is featured during the show’s opening credits.
