Wailua Beach Park is a scenic sandy beach on the north side of the mouth of the Wailua River. The park's location immediately beside the highway and fronting what has been a largely abandoned former hotel property, the Coco Palms Resort, that often fluctuates between abandoned eyesore and long term construction project has contributed to a mostly unappealing feel for a Kauai beach, leaving this park mostly free of people.

Parking for the beach is on street around the gas station near the beach's northern end. Also at the north end is a small rock-protected cove called Lae Nani, which keeps waters calm, unlike the exposed beach area that can often see strong currents.

Wailua Beach Park can be good for watching surfers, looking for turtles swimming around offshore or for catching the sunrise over the sea.

There are no amenities located at the beach, but there are a few small restaurants and convenience stores located around the beach's north side.
