Red Dirt Waterfall, also marked as Red Sand Falls sometimes, is a small waterfall in a seemingly Martian red landscape along the drive up toward Waimea Canyon State Park.

Lying relatively low along the canyon drive, the falls can be glimpsed to the west of Route 550. A small, rutted unmarked shoulder on the uphill side provides space to pull over, and then visitors must cross the road and jump the guard rail to approach the falls. Across the guard rail, a very short walk leads to the falls. Visitors should be careful that the red clay dirt can be very muddy and slick following wet weather. For visitors who might be sporting new shoes, the red dirt is also known for staining anything it comes into contact with.

The falls aren't large, however the landscape is a nice one to take in. It's also possible to climb around the falls and see the wider view over Waimea town below.

There are no amenities of any kind at the waterfall. Use caution when parking and crossing the road, as most cars speed right past this area without slowing down at all.
