Kalapaki Beach

Easily accessible and close to the Lihue Airport, Kalapaki Beach is an enjoyable Kauai beach destination for all ages. The harbor provides an open, sandy beach for volleyball, swimming, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and simply relaxing in the sun. In addition to all of these activities, Kalapaki beach is flanked by beachfront dining options and shops so that you can spend a full day in the area and mix up your activities. Public parking and restroom facilities are all within a short walk of Kalapaki Beach.

As one of the few downsides to this destination, there is no reef off shore. That means that Kalapaki Beach does not offer a variety of fish, and snorkeling in this area will mostly be limited to rocky underwater formations and sea shells (which can still be enjoyable for the average mainlander).
