Also called Twenty Mile Beach owing to its location about 20 miles from the town of Kaunakakai, George Murphy Beach Park is a sandy sliver of shore fronting what can be some ideal snorkeling beach.

Trees dense with singing birds line the parking area, from which a short walk down a slope leads to the water's edge. George Murphy Beach is protected by an offshore reef, and the water is clear, making for ideal snorkeling conditions if the tide isn't rough. Snorkelers and swimmers should be aware the surf becomes very rough beyond the reef.

Calm waters and the sandy setting are the attraction here. The parking area is an unsigned pullout that lies immediately off of Kamehameha Highway. There is a trash can and a porta potty, but that is the extent of the amenities located at the beach park.

Visitors can expect the spot to be free of crowds. Maui is visible directly across the water.
