Home to the widest and longest fringing reef on the island of Kauai, Anini Beach is a great place to bring small children to play in the calm waters within its breakwater. Anini is know for its windsurfing thanks to the large open bay and persistent gusting tradewinds. Decent snorkeling can be found relatively close to shore, but this is not considered a premiere spot for it. The beach is relatively long and allows you to spread out among the crowds. By no means as popular as many other beaches on the island, it can still get pretty busy on the weekends with North Shore residents. Permitted camping is allowed here, and the beach also has picnic tables, shelter pavilions, showers and bathrooms. Dogs are allowed here as well.
