Division Road Camping Area is one of two marked free primitive campgrounds within Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge.
The campground is primitive with a spacious gravel pullout large enough for a few vehicles and a vault toilet and trash can. There is no water available here - or anywhere within the wildlife refuge - and there is no shade.
The Division Road area offers visitors the quickest access to the east side of the refuge, along with access to the mountain roads and trails entering the peaks immediately east.
Those staying here will likely find themselves the only campers, as the refuge in general remains pretty quiet and off of most people's maps. Another benefit of Division Road Campground is that during dry periods, many of the lakes in this area of the refuge are dry, so evenings won't bring as many mosquitoes and insects as the other designated camping area at Lead Lake will. However due to the Division Road area's dryness, there won't be as much wildlife or birds in the area either.
There is no fee to camp. Dogs are permitted in the refuge on leash. Campfires are not permitted anywhere in the refuge, including campgrounds. Reservations are not possible, this primitive camp is strictly first come, first serve.
