The campground at Cape Henlopen State Park is perfect for those wishing to get the experience of camping near the ocean with modern amenities. There are over 170 sites within the campground, most of which contain electric and water hookups.

Campsites within the park are, with the exception of walk-in only tent/cabin rentals, very close together, so privacy may be in limited supply unless you bring an RV of some sort.

Overlooking the entire campground is an old watchtower, built during World War II to protect the coast. There are many trails and bike paths that lead out of the campground into the dunes and historical areas of the park, including access to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Delaware Bay.

Extensive renovations to the campground were completed in May 2017, including larger sites for RVs, an upgraded camp store with laundry capabilities, and an even greater amount of water and electric hookups.

Cape Henlopen is only a short drive away from the popular coastal towns of Rehoboth and Dewey, each of which feature a variety of unique shops, outlets and restaurants.
