Chief Mountain West Campground is located off Highway 93, a few miles down a well maintained gravel road. The campground makes a great overnight stop for those traveling through the area, but is also a popular destination for those looking to ride the OHV trails located here. The Silver State Off-Highway Vehicle Trail can be accessed from the campground. This 260 mile trail loops through the Nevada backcountry and is the first Congressionally-designated off-highway vehicle trail ever.

Chief Mountain Campground offers 4 campsites. A shade shelter covers a picnic table, and you’ll also find a fire ring and grill at each site. The layout of the campground pairs the campsites in two, perfect if you’re camping with a friend, but a little close if you don’t know your neighbor. Regardless, you’re sure to enjoy the stunning desert views from here, including a prefect view for sunset.

Besides a vault toilet there are no amenities at Chief Mountain West. Campsites are first come, first served with no reservations possible.
