Silver Lake Campground lies along the June Lake Loop, tucked back and perched at the bottom of the mountains from June Lake.
The campground is larger, with 63 sites that can accommodate vehicles and trailers up to 40 feet. There is a nearby boat ramp, as well as several small foot paths from the campground leading to the edge of Silver Lake. The campground is also right in the center of hiking and pack trails, some of which climb into the nearby Ansel Adams Wilderness.
All sites at the campground are basic, with tables, fire and lockers for food. The sites are set on two paved loop roads that circle through the campground. Some sites are shadless and exposed, while others are afforded a good amount of privacy with the abundance of shrubs and trees growing around them.
Water spigots are spaced throughout the campground, and flush bathrooms are available.
There are also multiple camp hosts stationed throughout the campground.
Silver Lake Campground Is a good spot to stay if you're looking for quick access to the lake. Though the area can get pretty windy at times, mornings came with ideal conditions for paddling on still waters.
June Lake Loop Road closes during the winter time following periods of heavy snow.
