Roaring River flows south to north dropping steadily in elevation through Kings Canyon National Park. Before feeding into the South Fork of the King’s River within Kings Canyon proper, Roaring River’s waters take a final plunge through a granite gorge known as Roaring River Falls.

The falls are a popular stop for many visitors to Kings Canyon, where a short walk up a paved trail from Highway 180 provides easy access. Roaring River Falls is also a trailhead for the River Trail.

As with the entire Road's End and Cedar Grove area, Roaring River Falls are only accessible when Highway 180 is open.
