The Oceanside Pier is a popular destination in Oceanside, offering stunning Pacific Ocean views as well as nearby recreation and dining opportunities. Metered parking is available nearby, although finding a spot can be tricky at times. No pets are allowed on the pier.

The pier measures 1,942 feet in length, making it one of the longest on the west coast. The wooden pier was originally constructed in 1888, and has since been reconstructed five times (the very first iteration only lasted 2 years before being almost entirely destroyed by a storm).

The pier is an extremely popular fishing spot, with fisherman often lining both sides of the pier. A bait and fishing rod rental shop is located about halfway out on the pier. At the end of the pier is Ruby’s Diner, and of course many more dining options can be found near the pier entrance and in Oceanside.

You’ll likely also see surfers enjoying the break near the pier. Two very nice beaches, Pier View North & Pier View South are located on their respective sides of the pier and are perfect for further enjoying your time at the ocean.
