Little Corona Beach is a small, nearly hidden beach that lies off of the beaten path. The sandy beach lies in a cove that tends to make the waves a little smaller, making this a popular beach for families with smaller children.
Set beneath the luxury homes perched on cliffs in this residential area of Newport Beach, Little Corona Beach presents a much quieter destination than nearby Corona del Mar State Beach. Rocks along the beach's north side provide home to tide pool life which can be explored at lower tides. And with buoys restricting boat and jet ski movement within 150 yards, along with a forest of eel grass just offshore, this beach is popular with snorkelers and the occasional diver.
Reaching the beach can be tricky, as only onstreet parking is available, followed by a walk down a sloped road for about a quarter mile.
Showers and bathrooms are located along the road adjacent to the beach.
Dogs aren't allowed on the beach between 10am and 4:30pm. Normal beach hours are 6am to 10pm.
Lifeguards are present during the peak season. Beware that this beach tends to get pretty crowded during peak times as well.
