Junction City Campground is a bare-bones BLM campground located right off Highway 299, near Junction City and close to the larger town of Weaverville. The campground’s convenient location and affordable pricing makes it a good choice for an overnight stay. However, there are downsides to the campground -- namely the noise from the highway that runs right beside the campsites. Sites themselves also aren’t super private, and there are some nicer USFS campgrounds in the area. The Trinity River is just across the highway however, and provides for many recreational opportunities.

There are 22 campsites at Junction City Campground. Rates are $10 per night (as of July 2021) and all sites are first come, first served. Campsites will fit larger trailers and RVs. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring with grate, and bear box for safe food storage. Vault toilets and potable water are available. Additionally, a camp host may be on site with firewood for sale.
