As one of the few privately-run campgrounds in the Alpine County area of Tahoe, Hope Valley Campground and Resort gives off a very neighborly impression, something that is lacking with most of the park-run campgrounds in the area. As soon as you meet the camp host you will notice the friendlier attitude enduring at Hope Valley. With 19 sites, most of which have full RV hookups, as well as a rentable trailer and even a house, you will have a variety of reservation choices.
There is an upper, mid, and lower campground area. There are a few walk-in campsites at the front of the upper area and several larger sites at the lower campground. The nicest, most secluded sites reside in the mid campground. All of the sites have fire pits and picnic tables, and prices range from $20 to $35 per night for tents and $35 to $45 per night for RVs.
Additionally, for a bit more extravagance, you can rent a classic 1947 Spartan trailer or a three-bedroom home overlooking the river. Finally, at the entrance to the campground lies the Hope Valley Cafe and Market, which offers home-cooked pastries, beer on-tap, and specialty espresso. Hope Valley Campground is a great alternative to the park-run campgrounds in the area.
The Hope Valley Campground is open Memorial Day Weekend through mid-October.
