If you are in the Mount Shasta area or are looking to ramble around Castle Crags and you happen to be in Dunsmuir for a pit stop, take the time to look at Hedge Creek Falls. The falls are just north of town on Dunsmuir Avenue, and the trailhead begins at an unassuming pocket park that is also perfect for a picnic or a freeway rest stop. The bridal veil cascade is only 30 feet tall, however the setting is quite charming. If you need more exercise, continue on the trail past Hedge Creek Falls and meander your way down to Soda Creek.
Hit Hedge Creek Falls last year while doing a waterfall day in the area. Great little spot to take the kids. Trail can be a bit slick right now in winter with mud and run off however.
