Located about 2 miles west on Aberdeen Road from Highway 395, Goodale Creek is a BLM operated minimal campground in a picturesque stretch of Caifornia's Eastern Sierra.
The campground has 43 camp sites, and operates strictly on a first come, first serve basis. No reservations are possible, and only basic amenities are available which includes several vault toilets throughout the spacious campground. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table, and hook for keeping food out of the reach of critters.
A paved road leads to the campground entrance and pay station and info board. Beyond this a smooth well-graded gravel road winds throughout the campground. Sites accommodate RV's up to 30' in length. While most sites are back-in, there are a couple throughout the campground which are pull-through.
Camping fees are $5 per night, payable at the pay station.
While Goodale Creek itself tends to be obscured by brush and not very accessible from the campground, the area around is quiet and the views of the Eastern Sierra are great. Visitors are required to follow all Bureau of Land Management regulations, which can be found here. There are no trash cans, and the nearest amenities are located in the town of Big Pine, 16 miles to the north.
