Fort Miller Campground and the nearby campsites in the Dumna Strands have 40 sites combined, many of which have easy waterfront access to the Dumna Cove arm of Millerton Lake.

Each campsite permits campers to have parties of up to eight people and up to three vehicles per site. It is the third campground you will pass when entering from the north (a little down the road from the Rocky Point and Mono campgrounds, and about a mile before Meadows Campground). The campground is roughly a half an hour north of Downtown Fresno and about 70 minutes from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park, which is due north from Millerton Lake on CA-41.

RVs do not have hookups at any site in the campground, but many of the sites are long enough to accommodate RVs, unlike those at Rocky Point and Mono campgrounds up the road, which are shorter. Of the 38 individual campsites, 11 of them are have 21-foot driveways, 16 have 31-foot driveways, and 11 are 36 feet long. Most of the longer ones are in the Dumna Strands, and the short ones are all in Fort Miller, but the short ones generally have better views of the lake. A select few campsites in Fort Miller have shelters, but most only have a few trees that, as of late, are either dead or fairly thin in coverage due to the long period of drought in the region.

Slightly more crowded than Rocky Point and Mono, but not so crowded as Meadows campground about a mile away, most campers will be able to get a campsite at Fort Miller without a problem. Dumna Strands are often closed when they are not needed. For those wanting a reservation, they can still be made up to seven months in advance; however, like everywhere else in Millerton Lake, it will only put your name down for a site with the driveway length that you reserve. A specific site will be assigned to you upon arrival. All the lengths of driveways run the same hefty $30 per night fee.
