As the only campground on Yosemite National Park's Glacier Point Road, Bridalveil Creek Campground is a clear choice for many logistical reasons. Campers staying here are a short drive from Glacier Point, an easily accessible viewpoint that rewards visitors with some of the most impressive and iconic views in the park. In addition, there are plenty of trailheads nearby for those who are using the campground for a staging area for day trips, such as the Sentinel Dome-Taft Point Loop, or longer backcountry excursions such as the Pohono Trail or Panorama Trail leaving from Glacier Point or the trails into Clark Range that leave from the Mono Meadows Trailhead. If you are planing an adventure in this section of the park, this is your campground.
Bridalveil Creek Campground has plenty of merits apart from the nearby adventures, however. Bridalveil Creek flows to the east and north of the campground, forming a natural boarder for this large facility. Red fir and lodgepole pine create a shaded and sheltered environment that is largely free from bushy understory. Unique granite boulders distinguish the campground's appearance, and certain sites incorporate their features like characters ready to join your campfire. The campground is divided into three loops and a horse camp that is offset from the main campground. For the most part, sites in all three loops are large enough to accommodate two or more tents, and while you definitely won't forget that you are in a campground, sites are distributed well enough to preserve a sense of privacy.
The sites in Loop A are pet friendly, though pets must be leashed. Restrooms and potable water stations are centrally located throughout the campground, as are food storage lockers. All but the group sites (tent only) are open to RVs and tents, though there are no hookups in this campground, and there is no dump station. All sites are first-come, first-served with the exception of the group sites and the horse sites, for which reservations are required. While the reservations for the group site can be made online, reservations for the horse camp are only available by phone: 877.444.6777.
Bridalveil Campground is typically open from July through September.
