Boca Dunes is an area of pristine white sand dunes up the normally dry riverbed from the Boca Prins beach area inside Arikok Naitonal Park.
The dunes share a parking area with the Dos Playa Trail. From the gravel parking lot, walking through the brush leads to the maze of towering white dunes. Heading in any direction, its possible to climb the slopes, only to reach the top and see even more dunes spread out in each direction.
Held in place by vegetation, the dunes tend to hold their form and make climbing easier. Downslope in the distance is the beach, a 150' wide cove lined with the white sand from the dunes which has flowed downstream. Many visitors opt to hike between the two locations.
Remember the way you came, as its very easy to lose your sense of direction in the sandy landscape.
There are no bathrooms, water or shade at Boca Dunes.
The sand dunes are subject to the national park rules, including entry fee and open hours.
