One of the best places to kick back and enjoy nature in the Arkansas Ozarks is Blanchard Springs Recreation Area. From the hiking trails to the caverns, this place has something for everyone. This area has a total of 18 campsites currently accessible with grills, tables, lantern poles and tent pads. These sites do not have electrical hookups. There are also two group camps available, by reservation only, for a minimum of eight and a maximum of 50 campers. There are also showers and restrooms with hot water available.
Site 15 is closest to the campground's entrance and has one of the larger camping areas, but it doesn't offer as much privacy as others. Sites closest to the restrooms and showers are 18, 23 and 26A/B. Sites 27, 28 and 29 are the nearest to the North Sylamore Creek Trail. While you are staying in the recreation area, make sure to adventure out to see all it has to offer. In addition to the campgrounds, the area is well known for Blanchard Caverns and for Blanchard Springs, where you can see spring water creating a waterfall. There is a natural amphitheater that is frequently the site of outdoor performances, and visitors can also find areas where older trades and crafts such as blacksmithing and leather working are demonstrated. You will get lost in the beautiful hidden treasures that are waiting to be discovered.
