This rest area is located on the George Parks Highway within Denali State Park. The path leading south will lead travelers over the Nenana River Canyon and into Denali National Park and Preserve. Hikers will find this to be a convenient alternative parking area for access into the park's main recreation area and trails. The pullout area provides restrooms but no camping or RV amenities. It is worth stopping in this area because it is one of the few pedestrian bridges over the Nenana River. Crowded with mountains on either side, the glacier-fed Nenana River provides ample rafting, kayaking, and fishing opportunities. Take in the views and action around you as you stroll across the bridge and get a full show of everything the Nenana River and Denali community have to offer.
