Trapper Creek Campground

Trapper Creek Campground is a popular destination for camping at Odell Lake. It's situated directly across the lake from Willamette Pass Ski Area, which is visible from the boat launch and lakeside campsites. 

There are 29 available campsites at Trapper Creek, all of which are well spaced. The best spots are near the banks of the lake, offering views and less noise from nearby campers. However, with heavy motorboat traffic on the lake in the summer, expect to hear the regular noise of boat engines during the day. Some of the campsites at Trapper Creek are setup as double sites, and these cost more than the standard campsites. Check the fees while reserving online, and they are also listed on the individual campsites at the campground. Potable water, vault toilets, picnic tables and fire rings are provided at Trapper Creek. Huckleberries grow throughout campground, and visitors commonly wander around picking from the available bounty. Mosquitoes are common throughout the area all summer, and much worse until mid-August. 

There is a day use fee to use the boat launch and park your car at the day use lot. This is a popular boat launch for recreational fishing and other watersports. Follow all fishing restrictions, especially regarding restrictions on bull trout.

Trapper Creek, which runs through the campground and into Odell Lake, is currently undergoing restoration efforts to improve bull trout spawning habitat. Odell Lake's bull trout are the only native population in Oregon, and Trapper Creek is a critical spawning ground for these fish. All visitors are asked to stay out of Trapper Creek and to follow all posted restrictions with regard to the restoration work. Signs with more information can be found throughout the campground. Nearby hikes into the Diamond Peak Wilderness are accessible by a short hike from the campground, across NF-5810 and the railroad tracks that run behind it. The Pacific Crest Trail runs just north of Odell Lake and there are numerous ways to link up with it from nearby the campground.

Trapper Creek Campground is closed in the winter. It opens in spring and stays open usually until late October.
