Tumalo State Park is a beautiful area located just north of Bend along the Deschutes River. The park offers a campground (open year round), great day use area (park fee required), and access to the Deschutes River Trail.

The campground offers 23 full hookup sites, 54 tent sites and 7 unique yurt sites. 2 seasonal group camping areas are also available, as well as a hiker/biker camp.

The park’s day use area is quite nice and is situated right alongside the Deschutes River. Here you’ll find a combination of open grassy areas and nicely shaded spots underneath tall ponderosa pines.

Picnic tables are scattered throughout the area, and there are also 2 reservable group picnic areas.

Lastly, a 2.4 mile segment of the Deschutes River Trail can be accessed from the day use area. Hikers can continue on into Riley Ranch Nature Preserve and enjoy the trails there if they wish to extend their hike.
