Fishkill Ridge is location in the northern end of Hudson Highland State Park.  Access to the Fishkill Ridge Trail (white markers) is through Packet Road which is gated for a water treatment facility.  Parking on Pocket Road is no longer permitted however parking on Howland Road is permitted. Walk up Pocket Road past the gate and continue to where th pavement ends.  The Fishkill Ridge trail starts here and follows Dry Brook for one mile.  This is a steep and rocky trail.  It often has water on it especially a day after it rains.  After crossing Dry Brook, the trail climbs steeply again for another mile to the top of Lamb Hill.  There is several good view points through this section.

As the trail descends Lamb Hill, it reaches a forest road with an old rusted out bulldozer.  Appropriatley named Dozer Junction, the Fishkill Ridge trail crosses the forest road and is no on Fishkill Ridge.  Follow the trail for 1.5 miles, crossing over Bald Hill and descending onto another forest road.  The trail turns right and follows this forest road for 1.3 miles.  Here, the Fishkill Ridge trail ends at a junction with the Wilkinson Memorial Trail (yellow markers).  In about .25 miles the Wilkinson Memorial trail meets a blue connector trail.  Follow this until the connector trail turns right.  Straight will be another forest road that leads back to the Fishkill Ridge trail where the trail crossed Dry Brook.  Continue on Fishkill Ridge trail for 1mile and back to the trailhead.
