Just before its convergence with the Willamette River, the Molalla River slows down into deep pools that are ideal spots to cool off during the hot, mid-summer months. Here, a wide embankment of pebbles next to the river is a great spot to pull out the camping chairs, have a picnic, and simply hang out with good friends. Come early, however, as tall, black cottonwoods line the river's shore and will overshadow the river by mid-afternoon.

Under Knights Bridge on the western edge of Canby, Oregon, this little park can be used for more than just a swimming hole. During times of higher water (fall through spring), Knights Bridge Park is also a great spot to put-in for a paddle. It's a 3-mile float down to the Willamette and an additional 0.9 miles to the boat ramp at Molalla River State Park.

Water is on the warmer side, very clean. Not much shade on or near the river bed luckily we brought a canopy with us.ver easy access right off main road, which unfortunately limits parking so get there early! I will be going back!

Great swimming river with warm water and rocks to climb on. Hard to find parking on a busy day and it does get fairly crowded with people grilling out and playing loud music.
