Lower Pleasant Creek Campground is a charming small campground located along the Boulder Mountain stretch of Utah’s spectacular Highway 12 at an elevation of 8,700 feet. The town of Torrey is 18 miles away, and there are many recreational opportunities nearby. Capitol Reef National Park is the most obvious, with spectacular scenery and great hiking. Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is also located nearby (in the opposite direction) and offers some amazing terrain and a few great hikes.
The namesake Pleasant Creek runs through the campground, with a small footbridge crossing it and providing access to next-door Upper Pleasant Creek Campground. Trout fishing is a popular activity in the creek, as well as at nearby Lower Browns Reservoir. There are also several hiking trails nearby that you can use to further explore Fishlake National Forest.
Lower Pleasant Creek Campground is quite small and is best suited for tent campers. Trailers overs 20 feet are not recommended. Campsites are quite nice and nestled beneath the cover of large Ponderosa Pines.
Each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring, and BBQ grill. There is also a vault toilet and potable water within the campground.
Campsites are first come, first served with no reservations possible.
