Worthington State Forest Campground is a great place to go and experience the Delaware Water Gap. The campground is well-kept and sits right on the river. There are multiple shower units throughout the campground as well as two different playgrounds and a very large open area. Congestion can be high, so reservations are required during peak time. The campground offers RV hookups as well as tent sites, which are all equipped with a fire pit and a picnic table. At the entrance of the campground, campers and day-trippers can access the boat launch into the Delaware River. If you don't have a boat or kayak, the area has plenty of rental outlets that can outfit you for all your recreational activities.
The Delaware Water Gap boasts a large amount of recreational activities. The river offers kayakers, fisherman and swimmers a quiet place to take in all the Delaware Water Gap has to offer. Directly across from the Worthington State Forest Picnic Area, located on the south side of the campground, is the Douglas Trail. This trail and many others in the area will lead to different areas of the Applachian National Scenic Trail. Close by is Van Campens Glen, one of the Delaware Water Gaps many hikes to a scenic waterfall. And if your more of a history buff, the Delaware Water Gap has plenty of that as well.
