Burnt Corral Campground

Burnt Corral Campground makes a great base camp for any activity along Apache Trail Scenic Byway, including boating, fishing, paddling, hiking, driving, and more. Located near the eastern end of the road, Burnt Corral gets less traffic than areas closer to the Phoenix area. There are plenty of campsites so it rarely fills up. Some of the sites are much better than others, however, and reservations are not accepted. It pays to get here early in the day or sometime midweek to claim your spot.

Several spots are located right at the water's edge and are well shaded by mesquite trees. Other sites are set back from the lake but still protected by a leafy canopy. The leftover sites are scattered further back from the water and many lack shade, but some have small picnic shelters. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring with grate. Water faucets and toilets are spread throughout the campground. Other amenities include a paved boat ramp, courtesy dock, lakeside benches, swimming/wading area, and overflow parking for day users. There are no trash services or RV hookups. All use requires a Tonto National Forest Recreation Pass.
