Just one of the many amazing waterfalls along the Historic Columbia River Highway, Bridal Veil Falls is a great stop while heading east from Oregon’s landmark Crown Point Vista House.  The .66-mile trail lined with thimbleberries doesn’t qualify as an extensive hike, but the series of succeeding cascades, totaling 120 feet, is quite impressive and certainly makes this state park a worthy stopping point. While driving on the historic highway, a visit to Bridal Veil Falls pairs well with a hike at Latourell Falls, Wahkeena Falls or even the heavily trafficked Multnomah Falls.

As of 5-13-18, Bridal Veil is open but the Historic Columbia River Highway is closed from there to Dodson.

I chose to visit it for the first time on a hot Mother's Day Sunday. What was I thinking?

Anyway, the water ouzels were adorable.

Definitely worth checking out in the autumn when the scene is filled with warm colors and there are plenty of leaves to kick.
