Lake Como is a popular summertime destination located between Darby and Hamilton Montana, not far off Highway 93. The lake was constructed in the early 20th century for irrigation purposes. Today it is a popular recreation spot for boaters, swimmers, campers, hikers and bikers. Note that a day use fee is required anywhere by the lake (an annual pass is also available).

The lake is quite beautiful and offers stunning mountain views. There are a few different day use areas. At the South Lake Como Boating Site you’ll find a boat ramp and parking for trucks with boat trailers. There are also picnic areas nearby.

The Beach Swimming Site is another very popular day use area. During the hot summer months you’ll find many people enjoying the waters and the lovely sandy beach here. Picnic tables, dressing facilities and restrooms are available.

Hiking and biking trails can be accessed from multiple points and lead around the lake and beyond.

Camping is also available at Lake Como, in fact there are several different campgrounds including a horse camp.
