Lake Carlos State Park is one of a number of Minnesota state parks that offer camper cabins as an alternative to camping to its visitors. There are four camper cabins located in the Upper Campground at Lake Carlos State Park and one of them is handicap accessible. The one room camper cabins are 12 feet by 16 feet in size and are furnished with a table, benches, and two bunk beds with mattresses. The cabins have a screened porch, heat, and electricity. No cooking is allowed inside the cabins, except for crockpots and coffeepots. However, outdoor cooking is allowed; each cabin has its own picnic table and fire ring with a grill. Firewood is available for sale at the park office.

The handicap accessible camper cabin sleeps five people; the other cabins sleep six. Pets are not allowed in the camper cabins.

The camper cabins do not have indoor plumbing. The campground has two restrooms with showers as well as a vault toilet near the camper cabins. The bathrooms are only open during the warmer months. Drinking water is available year-round from a frost-free potable water hydrant in front of the solar panel by the Visitor Center.

The camper cabins are available for rent every day from April through October. During the colder months the cabins can be rented from Thursday through Sunday. As of 2022, the rate to rent a camper cabin was $90 a night. Reservations can be made online or by phone. In addition to the lodging fees, there is a fee to enter the park; a day use or annual permit can be purchased at the park office.
