The Flatirons Vista Loop combines the Flatirons Vista North Trail and South Trail to form a 3.5 mile loop that provides great views toward the namesake Flatirons, as well as relatively easy hiking.

To begin, park at the Flatirons Vista Trailhead. Note that there is a $5 parking fee charged (vehicles registered in Boulder County are exempt from the parking fee).

Stay to the right when hiking out from the trailhead and continue until you are on the Flatirons Vista North Trail. This stretch of trail offers some of the best vistas of the entire hike. You’ll also want to keep an eye open for Prairie Dogs in the open fields here.

The trail parallels some power lines for a while. Some trees begin to appear as you continue on. The trail curves to the left and turns into the Flatirons Vista South Trail. This stretch is the most heavily forested of the hike.

The trail continues curving around, follows a fenceline for a while, then heads back toward the trailhead.

As you descend toward the trailhead you’ll have open views down toward the open expanse of flatland below.

Follow signs back to the parking area where you’ll finish the loop.
