Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park

Kakabeka Falls is the second highest waterfall in Ontario at 131 feet high. Kakabeka Falls has year-round access for viewing, and a boardwalk that wraps about the top of the falls provides a view of this scenic waterfall from every angle.

In addition to the beautiful Kakabeka Falls, the park features a trail network that offers nature trails for summer hikes, which become groomed skiing trails in the winter. Kakabeka Falls Provicial Park boasts three campgrounds for car camping; two of these campgrounds offer group sites.

Hiking trails include:

• Boardwalk Trail, 0.5 mile
• Mountain Portage Trail, 0.75-mile loop, wheelchair accessible
• Little Falls Trail, 1.5-mile loop, moderate difficulty
• Poplar Point Trail, 2.5-mile loop, moderate difficulty

Note that the invasive species emerald ash borer has recently been discovered within the City of Thunder Bay. Please leave firewood at home to prevent the spread of these pests.
