No matter what you're looking for, chances are you'll find it at Stanley Park. One of the largest of the Vancouver city parks (nearly 1,000 acres in size), Stanley Park is a hub for nature enthusiasts, activity seekers, and those looking to enjoy a relaxing setting.
The park hosts the city aquarium, rose gardens, restaurants, beaches, nature paths, lakes, lighthouses, and so much to explore that the park has been ranked by multiple sources as the "Best Park in the World." Perhaps the most iconic feature of the park is the 13-mile sea wall that lines the entire waterfront of the park. The sea wall features two paths, one for bicyclists and one for pedestrians, providing comfortable access for all users looping around the outer edges of the island.
The park is ideally located at the northeastern edge of downtown Vancouver, and the park peninsula provides a natural barrier between English Bay to the west and Vancouver Harbor to the east. Although a large portion of the park features manicured gardens and lawns, those seeking a quiet setting can hike through the canopy-covered forests of iconic Douglas fir on miles of paved and unpaved paths.
Stanley Park features nine distinct beach areas that offer a range of amenities. Visitors can enjoy the sun, wildlife, courts for various sports, picnic shelters, and perhaps a swim in the cold northwest waters.
