Golden Ears Park near Maple Ridge, is home to some of the most beautiful trails, pristine lakes, and majestic forests in the lower mainland. The park is saturated with trails, beaches, vistas, and whatever else you could possible dream of; it's almost overwhelming. The trail to Gold Creek Falls is a great way to get introduced.

This trail is located at the very far end of the road that runs through the park. The trailhead is fairly easy to find at the northwest end of the large parking lot. This is a well maintained trail with hardly any elevation gain that is a great walk for people of all ages.

After a only a few minutes of walking through your classic northwest rainforest there will be an opening that leads out to Gold Creek and a small beach. A few more minutes down the trail and you'll find that it opens up into a large area that hosts breathtaking views of a few of the local mountain peaks.

You'll find tons of other spots that open up toward the creek and many places to explore. Eventually you'll climb a small hill and find yourself at the first viewpoint for Gold Creek Falls. If you keep following the trail up and around it will lead you to a secondary viewpoint at the top of the falls. There's a trail leading down to the rocks along the top of the falls that some choose to follow at their own risk. This is not recommended during months when the water is high.
