Ocean View and Canyon View Loop is a 4-mile route located in Zuma and Trancas Canyons within the Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area. The route begins at the Zuma Ridge Trailhead and traverses east connecting both the Ocean View and Canyon View Trails.
The area features a wide variety of native plants and animals, including coastal sage scrub, deer, rabbits, coyotes, hawks, and more. And the terrain is dominated by chaparral vegetation, whose low height leaves much of it exposed to the hot sun as well as providing scenic views of Zuma Canyon, the Santa Monica Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean.
This trail is rated moderate and is suitable for running, hiking, and horseback riding (bicycles are not permitted on the trails in lower Zuma Canyon).
TRAILHEAD
The Zuma Ridge Trailhead is located at the top of Busch Drive. Trailhead amenities include a small dirt parking area, information board, trash can, and recycling bin. There is no potable water at the trailhead.

Zuma Ridge Access Trail → Ocean View Trail → Kanan-Edison Road → Canyon View Trail → Zuma Loop Trail → Zuma Ridge Access Trail
WATER
The national park service does not recommend drinking from streams in the area. Visitors should plan to bring sufficient food and water.
HEAT
A lack of shade and water makes portions of this trail extremely hot during sunny and warm weather. Visitors are advised to carry sufficient food and water, as well as sun protective clothing.
