Indian Springs Campground is a camping area set beneath the dense trees of the Tahoe National Forest at 5600' in elevation near the Soda Springs area.
The campground has 35 sites set along a couple small paved loop roads. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There are spigots with potable water, along with vault toilets located throughout the campground.
In addition to the sites with parking, there are seven walk-in sites that have a bit more privacy from neighboring sites if you can do the 100' walk between the camp sites and the walk in parking area.
The campground is located less than a mile off of Interstate 80, however the downside of this accessibility is that the highway noise here is constant. One great feature of the campground is the Indian Springs swimming hole located just upstream of the campground which can be reached by walking a short path from the edge of the campground to the area along the South Yuba River.
All sites are basic, with no hook ups of any kind. With smaller parking spaces and the tight winding road through the campground, only smaller trailers are able to fit.
Many of the camp sites can be reserved online beforehand, though quite a few remain open on a first come, first serve basis. Campers can pay at the self-pay station located at the entrance to the campground.
Indian Springs Campground typically remains open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, though exact dates each year might vary based on conditions.
