Faucherie Group Campground is a scenic, lakeside camping area consisting of two sites that can hold up to 25 people on the High Sierra waters of Faucherie Lake.
The campground lies at the end of a forest road, and has two sites. Each site can hold up 25 people. Set beneath trees with lakeside views, Faucherie Campground is a basic campground set in a beautiful area.
Fire pits, tables, clearings for tents, a vault toilet and bear lockers are the improvements at the campground. Just up a small slope is Faucherie Day Use Area, which has a primitive boat ramp to the water (only non motorized watercraft are permitted). Throughout the lake area are several waterfalls, fishing, and a hiking trail that heads deep into the Five Lakes Basin.
Reservations must be made through the Nevada Irrigation District at the phone number, (530) 265-5302. Due to the scenic location and the limited number of sites, Faucherie Group Camp can often be booked well in advance for weekends and holidays.
No potable water is available, however there are small streams where water can be gathered if boiled. Campers must pack out their own trash. Visitors should be well prepared for the mosquitoes present here. Roads to the campground are extremely rough and subject to winter conditions. Check with the Nevada Irrigation District to find the campground's open status.
More information can be found at the Nevada Irrigation District website.
